Booking Direct to Save Money
Here is your “top tip” for the day.
You may not be aware that if you pick up the phone and call direct or email direct you can significantly save on your accommodation rates.
The big OTA’s (on line travel agents) like Bookings.Comm, Expedia have got us cornered and we cannot compete with their Google Ad’s to make our properties website come up on page one of Google.
Just for your information these international giants are the only two Booking Agents, all the other ones you have heard of like Agoda, Wotif, Hotels Combined, Trivago etc, are all under the umbrella of this pair.
We, as property managers, have to sign contracts with them that we will advertise the same rates on our website as we load onto their websites.
When, you, the consumer is looking on Bookings.Comm, you find the property you want to stay at and then you may choose to have a look at my website to compare pricing. You will see the same rate, so most of my guests advise me that they just find it too easy to stay with the on line agent or whatever site they are on and complete the booking.
If you pick up the phone and call me, I can offer you any rate I like. If you email me, I can offer you any rate I decide.
When you call me we can discuss if you would prefer ground floor or top floor or pool side, all these choices are things we prioritise to our direct bookings, we can’t always guarantee choosing an exact apartment but we can try a little harder for our direct bookings guests.
The savings you will make could be anything from enough for a few bottles of wine or even up to a night out for dinner or more!
So please consider supporting, us, Australian business owners and property managers in beating the OTA’s by booking direct and we both can be the winners financially and not the big global (not Australian owned) Travel Agents!
A wild “plot twist” in this blog is that a young man called “George” has just called and made this story my reality and is the highlight of my day. George called to meet his host over the phone, get to know where he is going to stay, discuss options and I offered George a smoking hot deal as his treat for calling direct. George will be taking his lady out for more than one dinner date with the savings he has made by calling me direct.
